Employee interview - Keith
What magic do you work for Play’n GO? How did you learn to do that?
I currently manage & ultimately responsible for the technical compliance department which is made up of eight energetic talented individuals. The technical compliance function is very important in ensuring conformity of our supply and products against specific regulated market requirements in the business.
I started my adventure with Play’n GO as a technical account manager and moved towards Project Management and Integration management until ending up in Technical Compliance. I think the passion and the perseverance in seeking more knowledge on the gambling industry is what ultimately attracted me into this position. Combining the background experience and guidance from my superiors was the key in my growth and success within Play’n GO.
How did Play’n GO win you over? Why choose us?
I do remember my first interview as if it was yesterday. I think the main thing that ultimately attracted me to Play’n GO was the company culture, followed up by the quality of the games. Having such amazing games, I figured out quickly that Play’n GO meant business and would certainly be a good player in the industry. Eight years after I think I was right taking such a decision!
How does the freedom to work remotely make a difference for you?
In today’s busy life, having the freedom to work remotely is a huge asset. Avoiding commuting to work and spending time in traffic is already a positive start of the day.
How long have you been with us at Play’n GO? What are your impressions? What is it that keeps you going?
I have been with Play’n GO for eight years; the company has grown from a small to a massive workforce dominating the market. Being part of such a strong growing company makes you feel great and keeps your mind at rest in having a secure job in the industry.
What do you find challenging about your job?
The technical compliance function is right in the middle of the organisation, and it connects the legal and compliance side with the technical function of the operating company, merging them into one role. The most challenging part of the job is to keep up with the fast-emerging changes in the industry, where we are seeing new markets becoming regulated, whilst existing ones are becoming more stringent towards adding more controls in ensuring a safe and responsible environment to the players.
With the above said, we need to be very agile and structured as a department and my responsibility, together with the team, is to ensure we are on top of things and together with other stakeholders we keep our content in compliance with all regulated markets requirements.
What do you like the most about working at Play’n GO?
Knowledge and exposure.
If you could make the rules, what rules for society would you champion?
How would life improve?
I think post-covid things changed drastically where frustration and anxiety are dominating. I think there should be more awareness regarding mental and physical health, as sometimes we simply forget that we are humans and discuss outcomes and performance as if we are referring to robot machines in a production line. I think we need to be more conservative and understanding that we are human beings, and our outcomes and efforts will constantly change based on the feelings we are going through.
What’s next? What do you want to do in 5, 10, 15 years?
Certainly, the most important thing is to continue working for a company that promotes a healthy work/life balance environment. I’m not the kind of person that thinks a lot about the distant future, more of a realistic one which aims towards smaller life goals tasks, rather than focusing on bigger targets. I acknowledge the achievements attained in my professional trajectory and will always be thankful for the unshakeable faith others hold in my capabilities.
What do you think your brilliant future needs you to do now? What can Play’n GO do to help you?
The most important thing is to continue planning and addressing the growth with a proactive yet agile approach. Collaboration, communication and transparency are the key elements towards success. We should also treat each other well, as this is the foundation to every team and department in any company. The foundation is there; we now need to continue solidifying it and build upwards.
Trust, Energy and Quality. What do these words mean to you?
How does TEQ make a difference for us at Play’n GO?
The core values are very important for every company. TEQ (Trust, Energy & Quality) show that Play’n GO is already addressing its employees as human beings. The Play’n GO core values cannot work without each other, but rather work together as a chain. We need to have inherent Trust in each other. That helps us feel good and appreciated, therefore giving us the Energy we need to continue to deliver great Quality products. If correctly promoted, ensuring our employees really keep these values at heart, we will all make a difference.
