Development Chapter Lead

Using state-of-the-art technologies and the Agile methodology, our Development Chapter Lead will be responsbile for the Backend squad in charge of our Gaming Engine.
In this position the Employee will report to the Development manager of Malta and his main duties include the following functions but are not limited to:

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Experienced individual that manages and oversees the daily performance of the chapter  
  • Functions as the escalation point for Software Developers within the chapter 
  • Ensures chapter’s compliance to the agreed tools, policy, processes and guidelines for development organization    
  • Facilitate the communication between chapter members, since members can be located in several cross functional teams   
  • Ensures standards and innovation technologies in his areas   
  • Advocates Agile and Lean practices  
  • On a certain percentage work within a squad as a developer 
  • Encourages direct reports for self-development, mentoring them in both personally and professionally   
  • Manages team to ensure high performance by meeting/aligning business goals  
  • Upholds and advocates the Company values and adherence to Company rules and regulations. 
  • Ensures team’s alignment to the Play'n GO culture 
  • Communicates and leads change  
  • Focuses the team on the effective execution of delivery and strategy 
  • Ensures team’s compliance with processes and aligns activities  
  • Regularly provides and receives open and constructive feedback on performance, behaviour and skills. 
  • Conducts performance reviews according to the company’s current policies and processes and in cooperation with Human Resources and Reporting Manager. 
  • Conducts salary reviews according to the company’s current policies and processes and in cooperation with Human Resources and Reporting Manager. 
  • Escalates employee issues to Human Resources  
  • Drives recruitment activities for the team   Enhances team’s competence and skills through training plans 

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • At least 5 years of development working experience 
  • Able to communicate perfectly in both written and spoken English.
  • Is focused on collaboration: Helps others to achieve common success
  • Ability to motivate others with a positive attitude
  • Coaching ability
  • Is curious and always look out for innovation opportunities in his/her focus area
  • Has a mindset that focusses on CI
  • Good and deep understanding of Agile software development processes
  • Good problem- solving skills, both identifying and quickly solving
  • Structured software development and software life cycle
  • Good understanding of the different Design Pattern knowledge
  • Experience using distributed version control
  • Good knowledge of C# .Net 4.0
  • Knowledge of SQL 

Preferences:

  •  Has experience in both engineering and coaching
  • Have already managed a team of 5+
  • Strong interest in Continuous Delivery and Test Automation
  •  Games industry experience
  • Game Development
  • Git & TeamCity & Octopus & JIRA
  • Orleans Framework
  • HTML 5/CSS/TypeScript
